- Soyo is an AI companion. It is not a doctor or a therapist, and it does not give medical advice.
- Soyo is not an emergency service. If you are in danger, call your local emergency number now, or find a helpline.
- Replies are written by AI and can be wrong. Use your own judgment.
About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Soyo (“Soyo”, “we”, “us”) for the Soyo app and this website. By using Soyo, you agree to them. If you get Soyo from an app store, that store’s terms also apply. How we handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy.
What Soyo is, and is not
Soyo is a companion to talk to: it listens, reflects and helps you find words. It is not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and it does not diagnose or treat any condition. It does not replace professionals, or the people who care about you.
Not for emergencies
Soyo cannot call for help and does not monitor your conversations. If you are in danger, or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, call your local emergency number now, or contact a crisis line. You can find one at findahelpline.com.
Who can use Soyo
You must be at least 13 years old to use Soyo. In the European Union, if your country sets a higher age (up to 16) for agreeing to a service like this on your own, you must be at least that age, or have permission from a parent or guardian. If you are under 18, please use Soyo with the knowledge of a parent or guardian.
AI can be wrong
Soyo’s replies are generated by AI models. They can be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable, and they may sound more certain than they should. Do not rely on them for decisions about your health, safety, money or legal matters. Features that offer a single line for reflection are for reflection only; they do not predict anything.
Using Soyo well
Please do not use Soyo to:
- break the law, or help someone else break it;
- harass, threaten, or harm anyone, or share someone else’s private information or photos without their permission;
- create sexual content involving minors, or any content that exploits or endangers children;
- get around Soyo’s safety features, or try to make it produce harmful instructions;
- access our server other than through the app, scrape it, overload it, or reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows this.
We may limit or block a device that breaks these rules.
Your words
What you write and the photos you add are yours. You give us permission to process them only to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of your words or of Soyo’s replies to you.
The service
We work to keep Soyo available and helpful, but we may change, pause or stop features, or the service, at any time. If Soyo offers paid features, we will show the price and terms in the app before you pay, and the app store you use will handle the purchase.
The Soyo name, app, design and website belong to us. Other names belong to their owners.
Warranties and liability
To the extent the law allows, Soyo is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made on the basis of AI replies. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer under the laws of the country where you live.
Ending
You can stop using Soyo at any time, and delete your data in the app’s Settings. We may suspend access for a device that breaks these terms.
Disputes
If something goes wrong, please write to us first at hello@heysoyo.com. We will try to resolve it with you directly.
Changes and contact
If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app before it applies. Questions: hello@heysoyo.com.
